Name: Kiley Williams

Current role: Director of Sales Engineering

“Helpshift is the kind of place where you can grow, learn, and see the impact of your contributions every day…everyone raises their hand to help, and I always feel like the team has my back, just like I have their backs.”

How long have you been with Helpshift?

9 months.

What makes your team stand out at Helpshift?

My team is uniquely positioned to directly impact the success of customers, and our efforts in the field. We often serve as the direct line of communication between our customers and our internal engineering and operations teams, and we make sure that every customer has the support that they need to succeed from a technical and implementation perspective.

Which one of Helpshift’s core values resonates with you most and why?

“Empower Each Other; Triumph Together” resonates with me most, because my team can only succeed by working closely with our colleagues, and relying on their support to power forward through challenges. Helpshift’s culture is one where everyone raises their hand to help, and I always feel like the team has my back, just like I have their backs.

What has been your favorite remote team-oriented event, and why?

Wifi Wine Tasting! We had so many people showing up in a relaxed holiday environment, and the energy of the group was through the roof! Oh, and I also enjoy good wine. =)

How does Helpshift support your WFH environment?

Helpshift has made tremendous efforts to make sure that we all still feel very connected while working from home, and not being able to meet in person. Providing us with virtual training events, team-building events, and supporting our need for equipment to help us work better at home has all been a positive experience. Also, getting a company-wide wellness day was very helpful in making sure that we took necessary breaks when the days may have begun running together.

What role(s) did you start in at Helpshift and how have you graduated/migrated into different roles?

I started at Helpshift in the role of Director of Sales Engineering, which was strictly a pre-sales role. Eventually, while still managing the Sales Engineering efforts, I migrated into managing the post-sale Solutions Architecture efforts for our customers. That includes professional services, managed services, and partner enablement. The work is exciting, and it feels like there is something new to learn every day.

Describe how Helpshift has helped you in your career development?

Helpshift has empowered me to play an integral role in a high-powered, high-velocity sales and success organization. My goal in coming to Helpshift was specifically to hone my skills and knowledge in both areas, and the company has facilitated an environment where I can do exactly that.

Favorite thing about working for a tech startup?

Making a visible difference in the world, and uniquely impacting our customers in a way that excites them.

What advice would you have for prospective Helpshift candidates?

Helpshift is the kind of place where you can grow, learn, and see the impact of your contributions every day.

What is your proudest moment at Helpshift?

It’s hard to pinpoint one moment that is my proudest moment at Helpshift. Every day, I am excited to talk to people about what we do, and how we are ridding the world of bad customer service. Every time I see a prospective customer express joy about our capabilities, or I hear a customer give testimony about how we helped them overcome obstacles, I experience the same feeling of excitement all over again.

How would you describe the company culture and what do you like most about it?

I would describe the company culture as driven, supportive, welcoming, and accountable. We own our tasks, we strive for excellence, and we have tremendous attention to detail. We also know how to have fun, and it is wonderful to see all of the different interests and hobbies that my colleagues have.

Superpower (real or fake):

Crashing weddings. Somehow I’ve ended up involved or a part of multiple weddings where I had only met the bride or groom that very same day.

Slightly addicted to:

Animals! I used to work on a farm as a kid, and being around so many animals all the time was like paradise for me. I make sure to spend lots of time with the pets of the family every week, since it serves as a calming activity for me.

Always on the search for the perfect:

Brunch… or Cheesecake.

If you could interview one person, dead or alive, who would it be and why:

I would interview George Carver, because I would love to learn all about his approach to his discoveries, and how he learned from his failures. Many of his inventions and discoveries are integral to today’s society.
